“Lose Your 11” Myth#1 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is a poison;...

“Lose Your 11”

Myth#1 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is a poison; BOTOX® Cos- metic is botulism (food poisoning)
Fact – BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a poison and is not botulism. It is a purified protein and a finished medi- cal prescription product.

Myth#2 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is not safe; it is too new; not enough is known about it

Fact – BOTOX® has been used therapeutically for over 16 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries. The same for- mulation with dosing specific to moderate to severe glabellar lines was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 as BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Myth#3 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is a filler
Fact – Unlike fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic doesn’t fill in facial lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes the muscles un- derneath the skin that cause the frown lines between the brows.

Myth#4 – There are creams that are better than BO- TOX® Cosmetic
Fact – There is no clinical evidence that supports that topical creams work better than BOTOX® Cosmetic. Topical creams work well on the surface of the skin. BOTOX® Cosmetic works below the surface of the skin to relax the muscles that cause frown lines to form.

Myth#5 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is too expensive
Fact – The cost of BOTOX® Cosmetic typically ranges between $300 to $500 to treat the “11” – about $3 on a daily basis.

Myth#6 – BOTOX® Cosmetic is only for vain people Fact – Based on the ASAPS survey, most respondents were hardworking mothers.

Myth#7 – BOTOX® Cosmetic builds up in the body over time
Fact – No. BOTOX® Cosmetic does not accumulate in the body.

Myth#8 – It is difficult to confirm whether I am receiv- ing authentic BOTOX® Cosmetic
Fact – BOTOX® Cosmetic has an easy to see hologram that confirms it is the authentic Allergan product.

Myth#9 – BOTOX® Cosmetic can only be given by a plastic surgeon
Fact – BOTOX® Cosmetic should be administered only be experienced aesthetic – specialty physicians, in- cluding plastic surgeons, dermatologists, ophthalmol- ogists, and oculoplastic surgeons.

Myth#10 – BOTOX® Cosmetic will leave you with a frozen face, or will give you an unnatural “startled” look
Fact – BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive pro- cedure. When administered by an experienced physi- cian, you should not lose the ability to show expres- sion.

Myth#11 – BOTOX Cosmetic is not needed if you have had plastic surgery
Fact – Even after surgery, strong frown muscles can still be active in forming the “11”.

Nobody likes to grow old. Everybody wants to look and feel young forever. In this era of “youth power”, who wants to look old and have grey hair and wrinkled skin?

Nobody likes to grow old. Everybody wants to look and feel young forever. In this era of “youth power”, who wants to look old and have grey hair and wrinkled skin? You can’t stop the aging process completely but you can get rid of wrinkles – thanks to Botox Injections and cosmetic fillers. With these treatments, you can achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance. Earlier it was only available for celebrities and a small circle of people with money but now anybody can enjoy looking young and wrinkles free again!

Doctors are very well familiar with Botox and other fillers that are being used today in the treatment of wrinkles and loss of volume with age, explains how the treatment works – when administered by a specialist in a dedicated facility. What are the risks such procedures entail? What are the side-effects and their frequency? Is the so-called “wax / frozen face” a given after a while with Botox? Does it lead to “addiction,” as they say? From your own personal experience, what is the worst that can happen with these procedures? We used to think that the face aged purely as a result of gravity causing the tissues to sag. We now realize the ageing process is more complicated than that and many of the signs of ageing, particularly at the earlier stages, are due to a loss of volume from the face. Successful facial rejuvenation therefore requires volume replacement but the volume needs to be replaced in the right amount at the right places and deciding on these variables is where the real
artistry is involved. Over-doing it or placing the volume in the wrong place can create a very odd appearance.

There are risks associated with cosmetic procedures and it is important that anyone considering treatment fully understands them. Most of the side effects are quite minor and transient such as bruising and swelling but there are a few more serious things that can happen such as infections, granulomas and even skin necrosis. That is why it is so important to make sure the person carrying out your treatment is a qualified doctor who is not only able to carry out an injection but also manage all of the potential things that can, and sometimes do, go wrong.

I don’t think anyone ever sets out to become addicted to cosmetic procedures. What seem to happen is after a while patients forget what they used to look like and think the effects have worn off and they want more treatment. This is why it is essential to take photographs before you start so you can look back and demonstrate the improvements and convince patients that they don’t need any more yet.

The ‘frozen look’ that you sometimes see when people have had Botox is a big concern to most people thinking about having the treatment. An important part of the doctors job is to sometimes say ‘no’ and most good doctors will do that although there is always the odd person who won’t which not only reflects badly on the individual but on the whole profession.

Nestled below the towering office buildings of midtown Manhattan, GemVie Medispa is a spa treasure for those looking to escape the area’s hustle and bustle while tending to their skincare needs.

Published in Medical Spa Report

Nestled below the towering office buildings of midtown Manhattan, GemVie Medispa is a spa treasure for those looking to escape the area’s hustle and bustle while tending to their skincare needs. “We wanted to create a space clients would find soothing, with soft colors, light hardwoods, and clean lines, but one that would also instill confidence in the technological and medical treatments,” says Vladimir Morgovsky, M.D., the spa’s founder and medical director. “In creating the treatment rooms, we wanted them to be flexible and consistent. The similar, clean design of each room makes the client feel confident and in capable hands for each new treatment they experience.”

Another thing that puts clients at ease is GemVie’s charming garden terrace. “The patio is the ideal place for socializing before, after, and between treatments,” says Morgovsky. “Because we are a medical spa, no full treatments are performed there, but refreshments are served, and this summer, we plan to host discussions and lectures on health- and beauty-related topics.”

When it comes to treatments, there are a number of traditional spa and medical spa services available, which makes GemVie an ideal one-stop shop for on-the-go guests. The Office Escape ($150, 90 minutes), for example, is an excellent lunchtime option for local businesspeople and includes an Aroma-Charme Facial, 30 minutes of massage and reflexology, and a PerfectSense Paraffin Hand Treatment. The Marine Algae “Hot Date” Facial ($135, 60 minutes), meanwhile, is a soothing skincare refresher that incorporates a seaweed-based mask that detoxifies, restores, and purifies the skin to create a fresh, glowing face for a night out on the town. Along with a wide selection of massages, facials, and body treatments are myriad medical spa options, including Botox and other injectables, chemical peels, laser hair removal, laser vein treatments, digital skin analysis, microdermabrasion, and more. “The digital skin analysis is very popular, as it uses a multi-spectral imaging system to identify a client’s problem areas, and laser hair removal is always highly requested in the spring,” says Morgovsky.

Those making these requests and more are GemVie’s spa-savvy main clientele, women ages 27 to 50 who are interested in maintaining a healthy and youthful appearance. As such, the most popular medical spa service is the Micropeel (starting at $200, 45 minutes), which is a results-oriented combination of microdermabrasion and a chemical peel. “Regard- less of what a client comes in for, we discuss their needs and issues with them before any treatment,” says Morgovsky. “It is during this interaction and through discussions about the client’s needs that a combination of services or new treatments are suggested. This way, we are continually educating our clients about their current and future needs.”

Products from Yon-Ka Paris and Belladerm are available in the retail area.

Meeting these needs is the ultimate priority for Morgovsky and his team of five full-time staff members, including his wife, spa director Galina Morgovsky, who was trained in Russia and has more than 25 years of experience in skincare and the spa industry. Results—not hype—are the ultimate goal of every guest experience. “Because we focus on educating and informing the client, our goal isn’t just to sell a particular service,” he says. “Every client has different needs that require different courses of action to see real results. We focus on providing results, so if that means we see twenty clients, and the best course for all is a chemical peel, we are not concerned that we didn’t sell any microdermabrasion treatments that day. We want our clients to leave the spa happy with the results.”

Published on imnotobsessed.com

GemVie Medispa created the Blackberry Hand Treatment to help over-texted hands. The company thinks it is time to pay attention to the hands and fingers that make our blackberries go.

I had the chance to try out the treatment and really enjoyed the 30 minutes of relaxation. Originally, I thought it was going to be like a manicure, but you actually lay down in a towel for a full arm and hand massage. Very relaxing except for when the paraffin is warming up. Get ready for a POPPING sound.

GemVie also has a great outdoor area for the warmer months.

The Blackberry Hand Treatment begins with an aromatherapy hand massage with a

To finish off this all-encompassing hand treatment, you get treated to the Perfect Sense Parrafin treatment.

The BlackberryHand Treatment is $50 for 30 minutes.

Why Facials Are Important? Different skin types need different skin...

Why Facials Are Important?

Different skin types need different skin care. Pore size, tone, and texture and oil production, called sebum are the factors that determine skin type.

There are many factors and elements that are harsh on our skin these days. The air itself with pollutants; improper cleaning routine; smoke; weather such as wind and sun; and biggest culprit of all can be our diet. These are things that can make a Manhattan facial a necessity for men or women! During your regular facials you get a professional who looks after your skin personally. You also get to learn a lot about your skin and get advice on how to take care of your skin at home.

So what does a facial involve then?

Simply stated, a facial is a treatment of the outer layer of your skin that is designed to improve the general appearance and texture of your skin. It can involve things like cleansing, removing dead skin cells, hydrating and unblocking clogged pores, lifting, tightening your face muscles, rejuvenate your skin, improve blood circulation and much more.

Those who have experienced it confess -”it’s result – oriented not just a treatment-is experience! Facials provides a great sense of relaxation and peace of mind while at the same time boosting a feeling
of well being and make the skin glowing. Get your New York Facial today and start your way to younger healthier skin!

Do You Suffer From Any of The Following; Extra Bags

(What isn’t luggage), Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles, Lines or wrinkles?

Puffy eyes can be caused by fluid retention and/or by fluid retention and/or allergies. Fluid retention can be caused by fluid that builds up under your eyes as you sleep, it is a temporary, but can be most severe when you’re struggling with allergies and sinus problems, or premenstrual syndrome. In order to reduce the puffiness you can try:

Home remedy:

Even menopause can do its share in bringing on dark circles. The skin underneath our eyes becomes even more delicate as we get older, and the veins under the eyes grow more prominent as we age.

The Perfect Pair of Jeans: The past decade, jeans have...

The Perfect Pair of Jeans:

The past decade, jeans have become extremely vital in women’s wardrobe and it’s hard to think back to how we got by without them. Come on, what would we put on when going straight from work to a cool bar in the evening? No other piece of clothing can be worn in so many diverse situations and look good. Although we all love getting dolled up; everyday clothes do have to be practical. Best of all, there is no age limit on jeans. A sixty-five-year-old granny could wear jeans and she’d look fabulous, as long as it’s a pair that suitable to her shape. That is something to keep in mind: we all change figure as we get older and so you’ll almost definitely need to change the style of jeans you wear every few years instead of automatically still buying the same sort you were dressed in when you were twenty-one. That’s not disappointing; it’s just doing something that will make you look and feel better.

The range of jeans offers out of the ordinary styles, cuts, fits and colors to suit the varying demands of the discerning denim-lover. Whether you love straight-legs, boot-cuts, drainpipes or even shorts, there is absolutely something to suit nearly all shapes and sizes. One way of telling whether a jeans shop is any good is by the mirrors in the dressing rooms: any denim shop with a bit of intellect will have multi-facing mirrors so you can see every possible view of yourself, predominantly your bottom. Getting the full prospective is especially significant when it comes to denim. A frequent problem is that if the jeans are tight enough around the leg they’re too tight at the waistband. And speaking of the waist, the waistband shouldn’t be too thick and intense because it will dig painfully into your hips and that gives all the hated appearance of a muffin-top. Look for jeans that are cut higher at the back so not only do they not gawk but also they don’t give you builders bottom each time you sit down.

No bagging! Jeans that bag around the knees or bottom are another fashion tragedy. For example, skinny-fit jeans are great, but some can start bagging around the knees after a couple of wears. Always make sure your jeans have just a bit of stretch to them. Get the length right! It is critical to make sure the jeans are long enough. When trying them on, stand and look in front of the mirror on your tiptoes and then with flat feet, as you are probable to be dressed in them with heels. With heels, the bottom of your jeans should just skim your toe, as that will give a good couple of inches of length to your legs. Boot-cut jeans can be very versatile, as you can wear them with heels, sexy boots and flats. A lot of women never move away from wearing boot-cut as they really elongate your legs and can be very flattering around the hips for curvier shaped figures. The most flattering jeans outfit for a woman can simply be a pair of well-cut straight-leg jeans, heels and a simple top or fitted jacket. It’s a no fuss dressing and looks fabulous.

As a broad guideline, I recommend buying one pair of straight-leg or boot-cut jeans and one pair of skinny. Skinny jeans styles are in fact great, and look very rock n roll, mostly in black. For me, when I’m buying jeans, or jean shorts all the rules are the same: check the cut; check how they look from every angle; check the crotch area; and don’t buy anything too small for your figure. The basic rule is if you try something on and it makes you feel good and look good, then buy it.

How to Pick the Perfect Top! It’s often with tops...

How to Pick the Perfect Top!

It’s often with tops that it all starts to go wrong. You might decide to wear something because it’s on the top of the pile of clothes in your drawer, or because it will keep you warm enough, whether or not it goes with the rest of your outfit. It’s through mixing and matching, but careful preparation, that you make the outfit yours. Good quality t-shirts and vests can form the beginning of a great outfit.

In terms of cuts, scoop necks, and V-necks look lovely on most women as they elongate the neck. Obviously, any cut that plunges is going to make your neck look longer, whereas one that ends right under your neck can shorten it and be less sexy. Square-necked tops look a bit more formal than V-necks and scoop necks, they go best with a more formal outfit, such as cute pants or a pencil skirt, both of which poise out the broadening effect of the square neck on top as they are narrower on your lower half. Scoop necks, on the other hand, are very casual and can be worn just with a simple denim mini skirt or denim cut-offs.

With vests its always a good idea to get them a size bigger than you need just to make sure that they’re long enough. Lycra usually has the ability of making the vest grip to your body in precisely the places you’d rather it didn’t, so always look for pure cotton. Length, too, is key, as this will give you a much nicer figure. Color is also very important. Blue, black, slate grey and white are the most effective colors when it comes to tops as they go with practically everything. Cap sleeves are mainly popular with high-street stores but they can be risky. Often they are cut so narrowly they nearly cut off your blood supply, which looks as unflattering and uncomfortable as a waistband that’s too tight. With long-sleeved shirts, make sure the sleeves are actually long enough, in example, not ending halfway down your wrist, otherwise your top will look like it’s shrunk in the wash.

Patterned T-shirts are OK. Big prints can look good but it’s best just to limit to your accessories because they can be a little gimmicky on clothes and it’s really noticeable if you wear them too often. Some T-shirts with slogans are OK – some are even fashion classics. Like vintage rock n roll tees. Wear them with good jeans and heels and you look cool, casual and show you have a sense of humor, which is always attractive.
